I recently ordered a custom cross draw pistol holster from a leathercrafter in NC. True custom where I selected a dark mahogony color, double black stiching and body shield. Price was around $130. While ordering the website brings up a warning that they are 8-12 behind in filling orders and it will be 8-12 before you will receive your holster. Ok, no big deal. I am not in a hurry and will wait for a custom made piece. The website then offers to let you pay a $29.99 "EXPEDITED SERVICE FEE" with the announcement that paying the fee will "bring you order to the top of the fulfillment list and you will not incur the 8-12 week backlog delay!!!! WELL, JUST PAY A FEE TO CUT IN LINE WHY DON'T WE? UHHHH NOPE! I ain't in a hurry and that extra $30 brings the holster into what I call "premium" holster work! So I decline the shakedown and do not choose the "expedited service fee". I order about 9 p.m. at night. I get an email confirmation the next morning and a few hours later another email stating that my holster was being made and would ship in 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whattttttttt??????????? I thought y'all were backed up 8-12 weeks?????????????

Is it me or does crap like this, piss you off? They obviously aren't backed up 8-12 weeks but are playing off peoples impatience and desire to get it quick by shaking the down for an extra $30 bucks when in acutality you are going to get it expedited anyway!

Being charitable, maybe it’s a leftover from a time when they actually were backed up and they just forgot to change it. Maybe if someone paid it they would realize the error and refund the extra payment? Maybe not, but it’s within the realm of possibility.

You could always send them an email letting them know and see if they do anything.

Simply put don't order from places like that. Complaining but giving them your money doesn't accomplish anything. I would've cancelled the order as soon as I got their 'expedited' fee as it shows you what sh*tty service they offer. Also as others have said, name them or your warning does no good.

Or maybe their orders are sporadic, and this is to protect against unexpected surges. Or maybe they're unethical? Impossible to know for sure.

what is defined exactly by the company as "EXPEDITED SERVICE FEE"? is that for rush delivery or for rush on making the holster?

also keep in mind what part of NC they are located in? many places were devastated by the recent hurricane.

I never pay those expedited shipping fees and many times I have still received what I ordered in 24 hours so the extra fee likely wouldn’t have gotten me the package any quicker anyway!

Maybe you need to go back and read my post again. Apparently you got confused. I have emailed them and am awaiting a reply.

These guys are excellent.

Got the email back and the owner said it was forgotten about by their webmaster and they removed it. Said the exotic leather items to still take that long. The holster is nice. MTR out of North Carolina.
