I have a clone of PPKS - the Polish made P-64.

I like it. It's compact but packs a punch with the 9x18 ammunition. I have read about comparisons of PPK and P-64 some like the Walther, some like the P-64. I haven't tried PPK but based on my research, they suffer from the 'Walther bite'. The back of the slide is sharp and if you are not careful, it will tear your hand. P-64 has rounded end. If you are not careful, the worst it can do is cut you - not tear your hand like the PPK.

No wonder Charles Bronson wears gloves whenever he is holding a PPK in his movies. Same with the James Bond character. To be safe, I'm gonna buy a pair of gloves, too. I don't want to be seen at work with a pair of parallel cuts on the webbing of my thumb.

I have one.

I took a girl I really liked shooting (she had been many times before with her father), and she managed to get cut by it...

I had just gotten the thing, and hadnt gotten bitten, so I didnt really know... Oh well.

My second date with my wife was at the range. She used a Sig Sauer P226. After the instructor got her over the anticipation of the BANG, she started shooting like a champ.

Does previous owner count? Carried a PPK .380 back in the 90's as a backup gun. Fit nice in an ankle holster. Department issued us Beretta .380's as backup/off duty guns and didn't allow private carry guns so I sold it for Christmas money. Miss that little gun.

Prohibited by either ammunition size, or barrel length up here...

Is she still alive?

9x18 only produces around 200 ft. lbs. of muzzle energy, where as 9mm parabellum is around 350 ft. lbs., and several hundred ft/sec faster.

If I was in the market for an ultra conceal carry gun, I'd go with the new Walther PPS in 9mm.

You can always go bigger :) I'm sure someone will counter you with the idea to go larger to Glock 36 or something similar.

Depending on the size of you hand they wear gloves cuz it kicks like a mule when it goes bang like my SS PPKS!!!! Every time I shoot mine it hurts my hand like a bad tooth ache.

I have a PPK/S in 380ACP. It hasn't bitten me yet. I'll have to check out those old Bond movies to see the gloves, I never noticed that before.

Wasn't Bond's a .32? I have mine loaded with CorBon +P JHPs.

Check the movie 'The Mechanic' with Bronson. At one point, when they go into the house of the drug dealers to whack them, he is holding a PPK with gloves on.

It's quoted as a "Walther PPK, 7.65mm... I only know three men who use such a gun... And I believe I've killed two of them."

That line is from one of the more recent Brosnan movies. Check out Dr. No when M takes away the Baretta and gives Bond the Walther. I think they say it's a 32. Is 7.65mm = .32? OK I just did the math, 7.65 is about 0.30. Doesn't the magazine on the PPK/S hold 1 more round than the PPK magazine?
