I have already been told to use the Mobil 1 product for the combination of price vs. quality. Any others that you would suggest?
No scientific analysis really exists (or at least it is not presented to the public and is industry insider knowledge) on say how Mobil 1 compares to Pennzoil Synthetic after 200k miles teardown, etc. Rest assured that these differences are probably close to negligible. Just keep the oil level proper and remember to change your oil according to your cars manual.
Otherwise, pick whatever 0w20 you'd like. Just remember that it's all just marketing. For what it is worth in 0w20 flavor I've used Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Kendall GT-1 and Castrol Edge. I typically buy whatever is on rollback/cheapest at Walmart when I walk in. None of these oils are "noisier" than another or get better gas mileage. All I know is that my engine has 75,000 miles on it and runs great with 7,000-10,000 mile oil change intervals. I've come full circle as a BITOGer at first thinking oil was oil, then thinking X brand was better than Y and then realizing my original intuition was correct.
