Any recent submersible well pump replacement quotes?

Here we have a jet pump in the cellar with the jet in the well, a 3/4 HP Goulds. The well is 150 feet deep with the jet at 100 feet with a 50 foot tail pipe,
the most water can be pulled is 27 feet. Pushed is determined by the power of the pump.

The cost to drill a well here has gone insane. $125+ per ft
I think our well is 160 ft. So that would be $20,000 for it! That is crazy........

When we bought the house 2016 the inspector for the well said the well pump should be replaced. The house was built in 1993. So I'm thinking it is time for a new pump, tank etc. Looks like a galvanized T used on the copper pipe connecting the water tank to the house plumbing.

Living on borrowed time.

And why not replace it yourself? And wow at that price to have a well drilled, I'd just buy the rig and then sell it when done. Because drilling a 600 foot dry hole would not be a fun thing to pay for.

My submersible pumps sits right at about 100 below the ground. 20 years ago, my pump cost about $350. About a year ago, I had mine replaced for about $1800. That included them sending 5 guys out to help me pull up the pump where the lines were full of water. They also replaced the wiring and the indoor contact switch.
Just make sure your replacement pump is American-made and not from halfway around the world where there are no lead standards in the pump manufacturing.

My well is shallow for my area at 300ft. Farther up the hill wells are 600+ with the deepest Im aware of being 800.
Good lord! My well is deep for my area at 160ft. Most of my neighbors are in the 40-80ft range! Static water level is 60ft and it supported 20gpm for an hour though… granted that’s according to the record from 1988.

I was quoted $60k to drill mine 400 ft 4 or so years ago

At what point will drilling/installing a well surpass the price of the house/property?
According to the www. House is worth $341

Only problem is you have to obtain a permit to drill and only a licensed well driller can do that and drill.
That's probably dependent on the state, here in Wisconsin the law exempts driven point wells and those wells on your own or leased property. But you have to follow the rules and you must submit a report:

Exceptions –A
water well
drilling license is not required for
constructing driven point wells.
A license is not required for an
individual constructing a well or
installing a pump on property owned
or leased by him or her. State law
requires, however, that no matter
who does the work, it must comply
with the state Well and Pump Code,
and a Well Construction Report
must be submitted to DNR.
A license is not required for an
individual constructing a nonpotable
well or installing a pump in a nonpotable
well, however the installation must
comply with the well code.
