Any reasons not to buy a 2016 nissan rouge?

Better than the Forester we tried IMO. Maybe next generation.

If you commit to the CVT it will be fine, if you're on the fence it might annoy you the whole time you own the car. I can't convince myself I should have to "get used to" something like transmission function on a new car.

I think with the new 9 speed (and more) transmissions coming out we are all going to have to get used to those things shifting all the time.

Am I wrong here?

Can't say that I like the Rogue, or much of Nissan's newer offerings to be honest. Drove a rental Rogue and was a bit unimpressed overall. Felt cheap, inside and out. I just feel that for such a competitive category, there's much better offerings for the money.

Citroen had a "semi automatic", you had to shift it through every gear but it had a torque converter so n clutch to mess with.
This was not an automatic with a manual valve body but a specially designed manual box, it work flawlessly and was solid as a tank.
I owned a CX for many years first as a daily driver then kept as a weekend driver along with the SM, they were my favorite cars of all time.

VW also had the old Auto Stick in the original Beetles. They worked well when new, but there was very little support or training offered on keeping them up, so when they broke...they sat or were converted to manuals. Plus replacement parts became unobtanium for them.

Get a slightly used Rogue Select for 14K - they are plentiful and cheap and a real Japanese made Nissan. The rear suspension and drive train slaughters the Honda toy lawnmower setup. Just the rear tranverse Stainless muffler is worth the price of admission

I find I don't like the newer American made Rogue based on a Renault platform(?)

Also had a newish Kia Sportage (15) SUV as a rental in Naples Fl for a week and I was not impressed. Non Competitive.

Just want to give everyone an update, bit the bullet on a 2016 hyundai tucson limited in the colisium grey color. Beautiful suv inside and out and really is a blast to drive. Just want to tell everyone thanks for the input and advice. Thanks!
