I have 2 5qt containers of PU 5w30 and 3 QT's of Kendall GT-1 Full synthetic 5w30. My Ford EB requires 6qt's on a change. I was wondering if anyone saw an issue with using 5qt PU + 1qt GT1 per change? That way I don't have to open the second 5qt container. Both oils are SN if it matters.

Not a single problem

I plan to use 4qt PP+1 qt Kendall blend

I see no problems at all! All oils are designed to be fully compatible with other oils.

Just curious how's the EB holding up so far?? And how do you like it?

Mix as many brands as you want

OK, Now I'm confused. Since I've been reading up a lot on oil & lube lately, including hours on this forum, I thought the general consus was that the issue wasn't that the oil would mix,(they do) but was the fact that the ad packs in different brands could possibly cancel or reduce dramatically each other out, thereby rendering it's ability to do it's job for a full OCI

Am I missing something here?

Ideally, mixing oils of the same brand and same type to achieve a specific grade that you want for your driving style and location is the safest, example: mixing 2 quarts PU 5W20 with 4 quarts PU 5W30 will give a thin 5W30 for the winter.

Mixing oil of different brand is not the best mix, but it doesn't cause any damage to the engine for normal or shorter OCI's.

EB is doing fine. I like the improved gas mileage over my previous 5.4 It is a much "faster" motor so I needed to learn to keep my foot out of it if I want good mpg #'s. Real test will be in early march, that is when it will get its first workout towing.

glad to hear it. Not sure how many miles you have on it, but i've browsed the f-150 forums and people report an increase in power after passing the 10k mile mark. Not sure if that's always the case. Keep us informed on how it does during the towing. I'm quite interested in how these engines hold up over time
