You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I have run RP in plenty of high powered muscle cars( 383/440/426 MOPARS, 455 Olds, and 396/454 Chevy )and drag/bracket racing cars( mostly small block MOPAR, GM's, and Ford's - couple big blocks ) and never had any issues. I even know people who ran RP in the GN's and never had problems.

Good luck with the that water in your engine.

when I decided that mineral oil was a waste of my time I bought a case of Royal Purple to put in my 1967 Mustang GT with a 428 CJ and the minute I cranked up the car, I had to re adjust the idle to a lower rpm. I noticed the improved throttle response and I knew mineral oil was eating away at my wallet every minute it was in my drivetrain.
I dont think Royal purple is a bad choice it just cost me more to buy that what I buy now.
I have a few freinds that have GN buicks that would love to race BuickGN all day long, too bad your too far away

Most would probably beat me lol. It's gone 10.60 before but it was never dyno'd. Now I've dyno'd it with the new combo but never run it at the track. Got it down to 3,100lbs though so it should run pretty good.

we call those beautiful cars down here

I still have my first car don't know how that happened

Me too. I got the GN when I was 17 back in 1994. It would've been cheaper, especially in recent times with the amount of bodywork and interior work required to make it perfect just to buy another one in mint condition. But too many memories. I'm 32 and I still have the car I drove to my highschool prom. On the flip side, it's so stressful to drive it because I could never replace it.

When I was 17,the `86 models were out. I couldn`t imagine having one fresh off the showroom floor. I`d been in complete and total awe!!!!!!!!!!! I still have the dealership brochure somewhere. Was a dream car then,is still a dream car now! Those things were rare when they were brand new. I bet they`re rare as hen`s teeth now!

I think my parents' must've hated me. How I survived the first couple years I'll never know. It was a very rough example though. Purchase price was $3,600. Looking back, it is almost funny that in late '94 through most of '95 it was a 12.9 second car and nearly dominated the street scene around here. These days I would get laughed at.

It was truly my dream car since 1986, never thought I would own one. I remember the first night I owned it, I parked it in front of my bedroom window and stared at it all night.

When I was telling my father about it he was all excited when I told him how fast it was. Then when I told him it was a turbo 6 cylinder he lost interest. Then 2 weeks after I got mine, he bought an ultra low mileage mint condition GN that he still owns.

Everytime I would do mods to mine, he would do more. Now he has a 4.5L stageII monster.

Sorry for rambling but so many good memories and I could go on for days but I might put you guys to sleep.

I have used Amsoil since my warranty was up at 100,000KM on my truck. Before that I used Mobil 1. I'm very happy with Amsoil and it is showing excellent wear metals in my used oil analysis whereas Mobil 1 did not. I still think that Mobil 1 is an excellent oil, just not for my engine and driving styles. Amsoil works great in this vehicle, all the other vehicles I use and small engines. I have used oil analysis to back this up. (can't find at the moment). I think that their are many different types of oils that can all do a great job and no 1 best oil. It depends on too many factors. It's like trying to cure all diseases with 1 miracle drug. It's not gonna happen. So for now I use Amsoil with confidence and will try their products again in my next vehicle and conduct another used oil analysis to see how they are faring. I think Amsoil will be my oil of choice for life because I believe in their products and have been happy with results, but a used oil analysis will always be the deciding factor!

This brings back memories. When I graduated high school( 1986 )I was going to buy a GN or a T-Type. I decided that while the GN was the special car and had more prestige( plus you have to love the Darth Vader look )it was too expensive and instead I was going to buy the sleeper = a gray Turbo T-Type.

Had it all written up to special order and even had $7K to put down towards it. The car was optioned out to the max. It was actually quite a bit less than a GN with the same engine. I ended up backing out as the monthly payment scared me at that time so I kept my Road Runner.

Looking back I wish I had done it.

In my opinion, run Amsoil Oil like the other oils and You may find that Amsoil may be like all of the other oils...no special equipment installation, just run Amsoil Oil like you would any other oil through the filter of your choice then run the tests like UOA or whatever.....Amsoil may work as well as any other oil.......In my opinion...

Now doubt... He has done some great works. I just hope Gen.2 looks after what he created. Be nice to see it in retail stores too, not just MLM. (Yes I know Canadian Tire sells it)
