Son is on a budget. Alternator went out in his Saturn Aura with 3.6L engine. I pulled the alternator and took it to local rebuilder who said that parts are on back order. So his budget options are either $120 SKP (new, 12 month warranty), $140 TYC (new, lifetime warranty), $130 AC Delco Gold (reman closeout with 30 day warranty) or $45 from U-pull-it salvage yard.
The one that just failed is a Denso from a salvage yard that I installed less than 6 months ago so I'm not too inclined to go through the salvage effort again.
Any experience with SKP or TYC?
Edit: I can change the alternator in about an hour from the top side without too much hassle.
