Putting brand new steelies with General Artimax snow tires on my 2013 Camry. Any concerns or tips for outtin on new steelies with new lug nuts? (cant use the alloy rim OEM lug nuts)

Any torque retorque concerns? Any "break-in" of the rims to be aware of? (Am aware of wearing off the tire release agent). Talking more about the rums here.

Re-torque the lug nuts after 50 miles or so. More important on alloy wheels but might as well on the steelies as well.

Steelies are usually spring loaded in that the rear of the lug nut hole is on a stamped part that doesn't touch the hub. This springiness is quite good at maintaining torque.

You are most likely good-to-go but I understand if you want to double-check.

Yep, happened to my brother his new wheels. Recheck torque in a few days.

Only thing to watch out for is rust--my Camry liked to seize up the wheels until I glopped some anti-seize on. Camry seems to run with pretty tight hub clearance, so any rust there causes issues.

Now would be a good time to armor all the inside of the tire and apply some kind of wheel protectant to the inside of the wheel so that brake dust and road contaminants do no damage them. Also, it should make cleaning them easier when it comes time to remove them (if you are into cleaning the inner side of the wheel/tire that is).

A lot of OCD in this thread. I tighten the lugs and that's that. Armor all? Clean the inner side of a tire? Weird.

Make sure youre using the right type of lugs.

I generally go easy the first 50 miles or so on new tires... Then retorque.

If your wheel comes off, put it back on again.

I've used polythene sheet or aluminium foil between the wheel and the hub to stop the wheel rusting on.

Normal people use grease, which probably also works.
