Price gouging and thievery on a large regional basis. Even with the special blend that you receive out there the price should be far lower now.

Our price is higher because of special blend that mostly produced in state, and our tax is higher than most states too. On average our price is about 20-25% higher than national average.

How is it that when barrels are trading for $82, gas is still over $3.50 but when it trades at $100 gas is $3.89??? Ridic...

Sitting between $1.20-$1.23/L here.

very occassionally goes to $1.17-$1.19, but not much.

I don't expect to ever see prices below $1.15/L again for any sustained period.

Unbelievable, went down 1c overnight to 3.14 at a local shell station. Diesel at the same station is 4.19. Ouch! No diesel for me.

I was looking for a reason that the gas around Canton Ohio keeps jumping up 30-40 cents every week and a half then slowly goes back down. We keep cycling between upper 3.30's to lower 3.80's!

As I understand it, as crude prices go down. The refinery's shut down to keep the gasoline supply down to keep cost up.

OPEC will continue its profits too. The Saudis have already made it very clear they want the price of oil at $100.00/bbl, but they think higher prices are not good for their organization. Since the Saudis are 40% in control of OPEC, they will very likely get their way.

The speculators and banksters are already licking their chops ahead of the OPEC meeting in Vienna this coming Thursday:

They can jack the prices up and the meeting hasn't even been held yet..Goldman Sachs is predicting increases in fuel and oil in England this summer too. It's pretty clear where GS gets its 29% profit margin on commodities. Banksters and speculators will have the price up soon, just maybe not as high as it was before the downward slide.

I am not fond of speculators, banksters and other vultures that jack the prices so they can continue raking in billions in profits. I would love to see oil go down even lower than it is, but I don't expect to ever see gas at less than $3.00 a gallon here or anywhere else in the country. I do expect a good increase later this year, say beginning around December 1st.

Regional fuel blends and regional taxes decide the major differences in prices. For those of you that have immediate price jumps of say $.30/gallon, that's just gouging, unless your fuel taxes can vary on the spot. Here in rural northwest NJ our regular fuel prices have dropped today to the $3.31 to $3.35 in most stations. Though some are still a lot higher.

$3.27 here in KC on the MO side. 7¢ more on the KS side. Outside of the 5 county metro area which requires a special blend, prices out inrural areas are lower by about a dime.

I am basing this upon an exxon near me that is cheap at 3.17 a gal, and it keeps dropping every day.

NJ has the 3rd lowest fuel tax rate in the nation for gasoline, but requries E10 now.

Stephen_G,

Over here in L.A. the price per gallon hasn't changed much at all. My area is still in the four dollar range so if you price has dropped then your lucky! I hear on the new how the price per barrel keeps dropping but nothing seems to be happening on the west coast.

An oddity is occurring where I live. For as long as I have been driving (10 years), gas across the river in NJ will typically be 20-30 cents cheaper for every grade. At this moment, gas prices for Philly and most of south Jersey have equalized.

Speedway rules the prices around here too. Same thing, 30c jumps all the time, sometimes for no reason at all - the market price had not increased.

It's been 3.29 for a long time here. Now, it's around 3.25. Doesn't seem to be dropping very fast for us. I'm holding out for another week before filling up.
