Any bets on where the gas will stop dropping?

I paid $2.75 for unleaded regular today.

I thought elections were over in Ohio. The entire reason gas was cheap there was because of the election and Ohio was a "must-win" state for the administration.

Somebody in the White House must have forgotten to turn off the "free money to Ohio" spigot. I need to drop a dime on your state. I hope I can get reward.

Kiwi, that's a good statistic. What I am thinking about is total consumption and not per capita. But, I am prognosticating based upon what I know. China is becoming a much more influential market for energy. India is going through a similar growth in "middle" class. I am looking down the road at what I think is going to happen. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It pushes innovation along to extract more and more energy out of existing fossil fuels. In addition, it will eventually make alternative fuels and methods of transportation viable.

Wow $3.04 gas, best I've seen is $3.57. I think it will be headed up soon.

In my area, by the way, it fell below $3.00 has remained there for about the last three weeks. Last time I filled up it was $289.9 for 87 octane. (When do we ever get to lose that stupid 0.9 cents thing?) I don't drive around hunting to save a few cents. I use QT, a Top Tier retailer.

I saw $2.67 reported at a station on Gas Buddy down here today. It's about two hours away though.

Going back to the original post, I would be very surprised to see gas drop much lower before it starts going back up again. The actual retailer of gasoline faces challenges these days. The price per tanker load can vary very significantly. They make very little on gasoline sales. IIRC they often take a loss on a tanker load to stay competitive with neighboring stations, but then they can't lower the price for a while after their supplies get cheaper because they have to make up their losses from the higher priced stuff. Quite a juggling act!

Prices are interesting where I live right now....

$3.15 on the cheap side of town and $3.39 on the expensive side for 87.

Filled up on the cheap side of town at a Speedway for $3.15 and got a $.10 reduction for using my Speedy Rewards card. About as good as it gets.

Gas is steadily going up here just like I predicted. We will never see gas under 3 bucks a gallon here ever again!

The philosophy is working. Only in 2013 can we say that $3.19 is cheap for gas.

Remember $1.19? That was expensive. Then when it jumped to $1.48 that was outrageous. If we saw that on pumps now, they'd be crowded with fights.
