Ant Identification

Parents house - they found these in the sunroom. Most are dead.

The outside perimeter of the house, interior of the sunroom and interior of the garage were sprayed with Tandem 0.13% last month.

We have never seen ants this large before, and not this early in the year.

What kind of ants are these? I think they're Carpenter Ants, but not 100% sure.

I posted this a few years ago in a photo thread. I think I used a Nikon D40 with a Vivitar screw on thread close up lens on a 100mm lens, not sure.
The original file before uploading to this site can be blown up sharp. Shallow depth of field. Hosting cost money so files are downgraded, otherwise, we wouldn't be able to post pics at all here.

Look like sugar ants to me, but scale is important so its tough to say for sure. Proportions of body sections look like sugar ants as far as I can tell in those pictures, though.
