And I don't mind that one bit. I should clarify though, I have no problem with people asking a lot of questions. $1200 isn't exactly pocket change. But this guy was different. He came across almost angry...like I was trying to pull a fast one on him and his daughter. Even then, no big deal. But it was the scratch and his insistence that it was worth taking $800 off that ended the deal. I mean come on...the scratch was nothing. Even so, I would have taken $100-$200 off just to make him happy and thrown in a bottle of polish and wax to get rid of the scratch. But $800? Take a hike psycho...

You may as well not sell it to him for your asking price, as he'll be knocking on your door in a year when the ashtray light burns out. "you sold me a lemon"....

It's like when buyers ask what I do for work. How is my personal life any of your business? I volunteer an answer because it sounds technical and you want to buy a car from a nerd, but it's rude.

It's hard to say, and usually is a snapshot of the population in the area. You see lots of students and engineers around here that are just cheap or broke and they are great to deal with, and you see lots of well off people who just want to get rid of stuff but frequently at ridiculous price (because they overpaid when they bought new), and you see lots of people who are in it for the thrill rather than saving money (and will haggle to death even with an already good price).

The only way to deal is to ignore the ones that are obviously not working, and focus on those who will communicate.
