Amsoil Syn Blend 5w30, giving it a shot

I dont see 7ppm/1000 miles to be "high" especially in a short 3k interval, a new to the engine oil, etc.

@Pablo, it might take a bit, but i think 5k is in order as per the suggestion in the UOA. Ill bet the wear rate per 1000 will go down on this next interval, just my thought.

Thats new! I didnt know theyd released that. To be honest, something like this would be good for an engine that deals with higher fuel dillution. I like the Mobil branded xWxx oils and Castrol has a new lower tier oil up here as well.

What is surprising to me, in my limited knowledge, are the "low numbers" of zinc and phosphorus. Way lower than what I would expect, but the wear levels where still good.

In the pics above I showed a pic of the magnetic drain plug, and it being "dirtier than I would expect or remember it to be". Perhaps the "higher than expected" wear metals, are a result of some cleanup happening. Entirely possible.

Viscosity is really close to VOAs that I have seen for this oil, at 9.9, so the viscosity did not change much if at all.

The oxidation value from a posted VOA to this example are much different, not sure what that means
I’d imagine there’s some cleaning going on. I saw the oxidation difference too. Very interesting. Not sure why it’s so different?

That's a great price for what looks like a really good oil. Thanks for sharing with us Burbguy!

This supports my decision to use the blends in my equipment this year.
