It's probably the triton 4.6 that Ford uses in the crown vics and f-150s (maybe the same as the mustang 4.6 sohc).

If it is my grandpa has a 97 f-150 with the 4.6 with 150k miles (mostly highway miles). It still runs like a champ, no issues what so ever since he bought it brand new and I stronly believe it can hit the 250k+ mile mark.

It's a 4.6 L Ford Modular 2 valve per cylinder. The modular refers to the factory's abilty to switch from several different variations of this engine, for example in the Mustang.

Check out the funky duct tape job I did on the oil fill to reduce air inleakage.

It seems you are right. I am new here and have been reading about Auto Rx and was wondering if I added a couple of ounces if I could develop filter problems. For example, running 10K miles with the filter on bypass.

In addition, I switched over to the Amsoil Ea011 filer and there is a little dry rattle on start up as if the anti-back flow valve doesn't work very well. I had this problem with Amsoil filters in the beginning and went back to Motorcraft FL-820S filters. The 820S never lost its oil fill overnight. It seems if Amsoil wants to market a more expensive filter with better filtration characteristics that they should master anti-back flow valve technology. It sort of [censored] me off every morning.

Is that an MM box/PI zip tube? That duct tape thing is funny looking.
I agree on the EaO11. You would think a premium filter would be able to do at least as good as a job as the Motorcraft..
I believe the rattle is actually the timing chain tensioners so the rattle isnt as bad as it sounds I think..
Oh and I doubt it on a couple ounces arx. That isnt enough to liberate a whole lot. Also, synth oil tends to temper ARx. It still works but less so than in conventional.

Yes, it is a MM airbox, PI zip tube, and larger mass air flow meter. I got a tune from Blue Oval Chips and it made a world of difference. I also got his upgraded transmission valve body and that was nice too. Addco bars and Metco control arms and watts linkage. Thanks for the info on ARx

Aw, sweet. Thats what Im trying to do to my car. But I only have single exhaust.

I think its pointless to upgrade the intake with it choking on its own exhaust..
Being me I tend to go farther out than I need for future-proofing so Im saving up for Kooks LTs and full custom exhaust...
