Amsoil SS question for 5k OCIs GM 2.7 Turbo

Overkill? I don't think so. With a direct injection turbocharged engine I believe in using a quality synthetic oil with 5K OCIs.

I have a 23 Colorado with the 2.7L TurboMax. It gets M1 EP changed every 5k miles. Currently at 10K miles with about 2K miles hauling a 3,500 pound travel trailer. Runs great and first UOA was perfect.

I would go with the extended drain Amsoil for 5k. Still very stout oil.

Would SS be over kill on 5k OICs even when towing a ton? Thinking boosted Moly and Boron couldn't hurt and the Ester?

Oil is cheap, engines aren’t, use the best oil that you can afford

It would be fun to go with one of the expensive oils, and do UOA's. I see how interesting that might be.
But in my opinion, the lowest Priced Dexos 1 Gen 3 Approved Full Synthetic oil will have identical results in a 5k OCI.

If you can afford Amsoil every 5000 miles, you're way over thinking it. And I'm an overthinker. Takes one to know one
