AMSOIL SDF-34 3.4L

Im courious if the sdf-34 oversized filter that amsoil makes for the 3.4L toyota tacoma is the same size as the new nano style filters? Thanks.

I cannot see why they would not be. You can call the Amsoil tech line and they can answer your questions for you.

Some of the new EaO filters are a bit smaller than there SDF conterparts but I don't have an EaO34 to compare. The EaO filters are not made by Hastings so there are some design changes with the new filters. Some have inlet end bypass valve for instance.

With the EaO filter, the size difference is meaningless, the media is so much bette it more than makes up for any size advantage they might be.

The gaskets are the same size. The bottom lip of the SDF is about 1/16 inch larger in diameter.
The SDF appears to be about 1/8 inch longer than the EaO. Diameter appears to be the same, but I didn't mike it.
Certainly not enough difference to cause any angst.
