Amsoil Info Series - Synthetic Oil Basics

Just a wealth of amsoil information there.

Amsoil doesn't use any Esters do they? They mentioned using 2,3 or 4 different basestocks. I'm aware of group III in the XL and IV in the others or a blend of III and IV in the others

The top-tier oils should have some esters. (the long drain ones)

Where is the first video they mention?

Don't quote me nor take my word on this (Pablo and Gary feel free to chime in) but yes, everything outside the XL Line. SSO is one of their premiere oils.

Yes, but there was a reason.....

I liked the first video. Very professional and well done. The second one I have no use for. Actually at that temp I could care less if they were both solid bricks. I'm staying inside and drinking coffee by the fireplace.

A side by side of 0W20 vs 0W20 or 0W40 vs 0W40 would have been nice. But then there would have been no difference. I hate when companies do things like that, it makes me lose respect for them. JMO

i agree...

What companies have to strictly use certain additives? They all shop around from what I understand. ??

Yeah I didn't notice that 0w-20 vs 0w-40 video. LOL

The first video is an Amsoil video.

The side by side video was not even from Amsoil.

Just so curious why you would even think that is an Amsoil video. Can you tell me?

I wonder how they even got it at that temperature -50F on the video. Backyard mechanic? I wouldn't even take that video seriously. All I see are labeled bottles?

I could tell it was not produced by Amsoil, not professional at all. But I would be willing to bet some rogue Amsoil rep made it. Not like one of the classy guys we have on here.

The "second" video I saw is funny. It was the first one that came up in related videos, not videos by Amsoil. One guy has long sleeves and gardening gloves on and one guy has short sleeves and no gloves, he must not be able to feel cold...lol Sadly some people can make others look bad.
