Hi all,

Cut open an old amsoil Ea old filter that I fitted a few years ago on my Honda S2000. I usually don't use these filters, but I sold the vehicle that I bought them for.

The filters appear of sturdy construction. There doesn't appear to be as much filter media (length) vs Honda OEM. I use Ryco Syntec filters on my other vehicles. Like the Syntec, the Amsoil filter media is reinforced by wire mesh. The filter media seemed very "dense" compared to the Ryco Syntec. The Amsoil filter casing was also very sturdy/heavy.

I didn't get a chance to grab the model number or great photos as the main reason for cutting this open was to inspect for wear on my S2000 which I drive hard.

Enjoy

Just to note the better synthetic media & layers of this Amsoil doesn't need to be as long as a cheaper produced cellulose style media. Thanks for sharing
You are right - I should have mentioned this.

A link to a Ryco Syntec (mentioned above) cut open thread on one of my other vehicles is here

How long was the oil in, and what type of oil was used with this filter?

Hello,
Redline 5w40 and Penrite Racing 10w40 (x2) over approximately 5,500km of hard driving, including many track days. According to my records, it was on the vehicle for 4 years
