Amsoil didn't do any better

Blackstone themselves say there is no statistical difference in wear numbers between oils. Even between synthetic, blend, conventional. Where something like Amsoil shines is engine cleanliness, extended drains, etc.
Repeated for emphasis. Hopefully the OP can read and understand this.

A $35 spectrographic analysis is nowhere near the tool to use to perform relative quality comparisons between oils. The notion that it can is a joke that is often repeated on here unfortunately.

I analyzed my oil filter last time and it looked simply amazing. I have been a long time lurker here and have been reading the good things said about HPL. So I went ahead and ordered a case. Lets see if it does any cleaning on this old worn out van. My gut feeling says HPL won't find anything lol. This car has been super busy with oil changed every 5000 miles and 45 days, mostly Mobil 1(My favorite). I will keep you guys posted.

How did you analyze your oil filter?

My gut feeling tells me HPL will leave something in your Oil Filter!

There are several standardized ASTM tests, depending on what quality aspect you’re looking to determine. There are a couple specifically for wear, ASTM D8350 is one. They are part of the Sequence IIIG and IVB.

The largest problem with this type of spectrographic analysis is that there are many uncontrolled variables which overwhelm the relatively small difference between oils. Wear isn’t a major problem with any fully-formulated motor oil.

Who does them for regular consumers, any specific company?

Southwest Research Institute is one. But this is not consumer testing.

As I noted later in my response above, wear isn’t much of a concern between any fully formulated motor oil. And TBN isn’t either these days with low sulfur fuel.

A license or manufacturer approval is the easiest and most readily available metric for oil quality and performance.

Isn't wear the only metric judging how long a motor could last? Of course other obvious metrics like how is the motor doing on fuel ecomomy, power, sound etc. My engine sounds just like it sounded on day 1 and has same fuel ecomomy and power.

Have you had a problem with engines wearing out before you either get tired of the vehicle or it rusts away?

That's a good question and I have always wondered about it. Can an engine eventually wear out into oblivion? lol

First, Walmart is dropping them, so they will be less available. Second, the Fram haters are bashing the "wavy leaf spring" some filters have. Just when we thought it was safe to buy a xyz filter, the haters tell us otherwise.
I wouldn’t consider myself a Fram hater. I used the OG Ultra for many many years. After that disappeared I searched out every OG Titanium I could find for 2-3 years at AAP. I also used the Endrance for a bit. What I am is honest and unbiased. I will point out any defects I find no matter the brand. I do many c&p’s here and call em like I see em.

Worn out
If you're only gonna run 6,000 mile OCI's, go with whatever is the least expensive.
You could easily stretch the Amsoil OCI to 10,000-12,000 miles. Maybe even 15,000 miles with some oil analysis along the way
Best of luck to you
Thanks. The issue for me is that I don't trust oil filters past 6000 miles no matter what they claim lol. If I am getting under this big ass van to change the filter every 6 or 7k might as well open the valve and change the oil. Long drain oils are not for me. Amsoil is expensive and honestly it didn't impress me with this report. I won't go really cheap like Supertech or Costco, Pennzoil is available at pretty reasonable price. Pennzoil Ultra and Toyota filter should work well for me. If the report on Ow-20 looks good and mpg not too bad I will run it all year.

Silicon is a bit higher than it should be; and AL is a lot higher than it should be. Bearings are AL on this engine, so abrasive particles are causing some bearing wear.
I’d check the air intake system really well for leaks to reduce grit getting into the oil.
