I am using a K&N panel filter with a removed power duct (gutted air box) for more flow. I suspect that may have something to do with the high silicon numbers, I will switch to a Amsoil air filter soon but don't planning on putting back the "power duct" because the engine sounds awesome with it off in the upper rpm.

Hmmm... Nice report. There may be something to this Amsoil after all. Too bad it's not OTC, I might have tried it then. My G35 UOAs never ever looked this good.

Of all the xW30 Amsoil engine oils I've looked into using, the ATM has jumped out (at least to me) as the best option for any of my personal vehicles. Your UOA wear numbers do nothing to change my opinion on that. It did it's job in spades, inspite of very high silicon levels (it would be wise to get this under control if you can). One other possible kudo for ATM may be the accuracy of the fuel% and flashpoint on this report. From my recent experience with B/S Labs, you may actually have a fuel dilution issue and not even be aware of it. If you are still using ATM, please try the Dyson Premium service to get a second opinion on your next UOA. It would be nice to see ATM added to the small list of "bullett proof" oils for fuel dumping engines.
BTW- does your VQ35 have 3 electronic throttle bodies, or just 1? My '03 G35 has only 1 and is considered a high failure rate item, according to an Infinity service tech that I have discussed this with.

ATM probably has little VII's. I wonder if this is a reason the report is so good? A thought....

I'm pretty sure it's not the same base oil combo blend as ACD/ASE (SAE 30 variety) - compare cold temp properties. BUT I've said it all along - despite the very similar specifications, the 10W-30 ATM is just naturally more robust than the ASL 5W-30. I almost always recommend ATM for the G35. (unless you live in the very, very cold) This just reinforces that recommendation.

What kind of oil filter?

Yes, get with Terry, get some filtration going. Get the Si down. Check the TBN and run the oil some more.

I remember years ago M1 10w-30 being a good performer, while the 5w lacked. I'm starting to really question VII's and whether they hinder an oils ability to properly do it's job.

I didn't get a TBN reading. I used a Amsoil oil filter, I believe the car has dual throttle bodies. When I changed the oil I put in Amsoil TSO 0w-30.
