What you guys prefer? they are both available for me, i just dont know which is better. And for my driving habit, i redline the car occasionally

Help me choose and i wanna know why you picked it. Thx

Tough one. RL 5w-20 performed well for me but it was overkill. Try both and test.

Which vehicle and where?

These are both good oil, so look at the specs below.

I really like Redline so I'd start with that one first. Redline has a higher HTHS number.

What car, where and why do you think syn oils are needed for your application? Seems the used oil anaylsis' with xw/20 have been really good overall. What would an occasional redline have to do with syn oil? Now if an extended oil change interval is in the plans we will have something to work with.

Redline has a proven track record with their 5W20 in everything we have seen it run in. Amsoil 0W20 on the other hand has no real track record to call on. So I would go with Redline. If you try Amsoil's 0W20 make sure topost a UOA so we can see how it looks!

Car is 2007 Civic, i drive it daily. Car is driven pretty hard at times. I live in Canada so it gets pretty cold^^
Ive picked Syn its because i wanted added protetion and i plan on changing whenever my OML tells me around (5k). I know syn can go above 5k easily, or should i just go with reg. dino oil? since im changing it 5k? thx.

Amsoil is overkill for 5000 miles and a waste in my opinion. Redline more so-it is even more expensive and not needed for a daily driver unless you modify/increase output of the engine and take it to the track on weekends and drive the snot out of it. Best deal I can think of would be some syn like Pennzoil Platinum half off sale (BOGO) or similar deal on another synthetic. Otherwise, any off the shelf 5W-20 should get you 5000 miles safely.

Tim beat me to it. If you were insistent on going with one of the two brands, go with Amsoil XL 5W-20. My car, like yours, is still under warranty and my owner's manual calls for 5K OCIs. I don't want to go with an extended drain during my warranty, so I chose the XL 5W-20 for my car.

yep, xlm is a great oil for up to 7.5k oci's. Terry recommends it and I put it in my crv for winter months... well.. I just changed out my summer gtx with the xlm.. the whole case of xlm was just sitting there begging to be swapped in

Besides, I was heading on my 6k trip to colorado and wanted the extra protection
