I have bought some Amsoil 0W-20 fully syntetic oil for my 2008 Tacoma with 2.7L 4cyl. engine. The owners manual calls out 5W-20 or 0W-20, but states that 0W-20 is prefered! I have never run 0W-20 oil before. Only 5W-20 both convensional and synthetic and one time for a short while 5W-30.
Does anybody have any experience with Amsoil 0W-20 oil, specially in late model 2.7L 4cyl Tacoma?

It is typically agreed here that 0w20, 0w30, and 0w40 oils have superior base stocks than the same brand names in 5w.

You should be fine. It is a more robust oil that will be excellent over the winter.

A better 0w-20 cannot be had. Just use it to the point where you've gotten your money's worth in avoided costs of alternatives and life will be good.

Thanks guys. I am going to put it in tonight. I can't wait to see how it does. I have never run any Amsoil oil in any of my vehicles yet, but I recently put Amsoil 0W-40 4-stroke oil in my ATV and was impressed with its performance in smooter shifting and quiter iddling. So I am expecting good results with this one too.

I just ordered 5 quarts of Amsoil 0w-20 for my new Scion 2.4L and plan on changing the Hyundai over to the same recipe :D

Supposed to be a great oil.
