AMD TL-66 2.3ghz vs. Intel T7700 2.4ghz mobile CPU

I've searched high & low for a comparison of these two mobile CPUs and so far have come up empty. I even tried the T7500 2.2ghz model and still nothing.

If you know of any links to speed comparisons between the two, or separate tests, I THANK YOU!

Specifically, I'm looking at the Dell Inspiron 1720 vs 1721 models.

Did AMD even sell any TL-66's?
I have yet to see one in any store around here.

I think so. The Inspiron 1721 seems like an attractive option as one can be had with the 1920x1200 screen for about $1480.

Well, I decided to just go with the 1720. 2 reasons: raw speed in the Intel CPU and the nVidia 8600 video option. Costs about $300 more than an equivalent AMD-based 172x laptop, but the performance should keep it from being obsolete like my old HP AMD 3500+ laptop has.

Plus, nVidia plays nicely with Linux, so a partition with a SuSE is forthcoming.

Looks like Intel is the clear winner when games/raw speed is in order.
