I attempted a review on and Aisin timing belt kit and it was thrown out, reason unknown. I commented on the F.A.G. bearings and the made in Singapore TB. Don't know which got me outlawed, maybe won't make it past the censor here.

Yeah... Maybe Amazon should do away with all reviews if they don't have a fair and balanced approach
to them. If you posted nothing but 5 star reviews they'd toss you for being a paid reviewer even if you aren't.

I see a lot of reviews on Amazon which have no bearing on the product itself. People complaining about damaged boxes, or something unrelated to the product (ex, complaining that TQ wrench doesn't read in inch-lbs when the product description doesn't say it read in inch-lbs).

Totally Agree.
Amazon is starting to really get on my bad list.
Yesterday they sent me a email that they inadvertently gave out my real name and profile information.
Of course in true Amazon fashion they did not give any other details. And yesterday they tried shipping subscribed products out to me
for which I never ordered and were not shown as "subscribed to"

Unless I can't find it elsewhere I'm pretty much done with Amazon. I don't like Google at all and I think Amazon maybe worse.

Sloinker, which novel? I really enjoyed The Firm, The Pelican Brief, and The Testament way back when, but he has sure cranked out a lot of duds since. It's like he loses interest and winds them up without a proper resolution. In some he's worked harder to push his politics than to tell a good story.

Exactly. I really think if someone at Amazon doesn't like your style even though it does not go against
their TOS they will toss you. No rhyme or reason and zero transparency.

Usually when I look at reviews, I always look at the 1 and 2 star reviews the most.

Of course helpful points will go up and down. All it takes is someone reading a review and voting against...

Hard to contact Amazon??!???!? Its so easy to do an online chat, like laughably easy, and they resolve issues in a snap.

Im missing something here...

Chat to me is a joke.
They couldn't even resolve my issues over the phone because nothing was there.
My Amazon issues started right after I bought and reviewed a Political hat...

Does your hat happen to be made out of tin foil?

Ditto. Amazon jumped the shark in the last couple of years, and I only go there now when I can't find things anywhere else. Even for ebooks, I mostly buy from iTunes.

Between massive levels of review scamming, banning books by writers whose politics they dislike, and the constant offloading of products to third-party sellers (if I wanted to buy from some random bloke in China, I could go direct, or through ebay: I used to buy from Amazon because I trusted them more than some random bloke in China), I see little reason to use them any more. And the prices aren't even very good these days.

My only complaint with Amazon is that they ship using UPS initially, but then the package always gets handed off to the USPS for delivery...it would be much better if the shipment was only handled by UPS...
