Well..... Just saying what I have seen... On their site.... And it seemed odd yet strangely honest about their battery reviews... Not saying they are perfect. But it was not expected to see such harsh reviews allowed on a commonly used battery.


And yeah... What happened in your case was not one hundred percent handled the best. That's for sure.

I'm actually glad when they remove reviews like; "This fine china I bought did not pass the hammer and drop test. Therefore I'm giving it one star". Or when its obvious the reviewer does not have a clue what they are talking about or misusing the product. That said, its up to the buyer to sort through the legitimate reviews and the bull feces. That said, I had no idea Amazon removed low rated reviews. I have rated a few products low and prior to posting this, I checked and all my reviews are still there. And no, I dont own Amazon stock. I cant even afford one share.
 
Folks, all businesses have a 1-800 phone number to call and speak to customer service.

Example:
I used the AAP 40% discount code to buy some oil filters, I get to the store and nobody 'picked' my online order. The store sold half of my order to walk in customers. I had to wait a week for them to fullfill my order.

Nothing to be gained by leaving bad online review of the problem. Called CS line and got a $20 gift card for my time and trouble.

I too have left negative reviews on Amazon and my reviews are still there. Maybe some people express themselves differently when complaining and review gets deleted.
 
I have been getting fleabay quality stuff from amazon marketplace lately - all defective garbage.

I was about to get some cat food online an many customers got years out of date cat food in damage d cans mixed in a re-shrink wrapped case.

Good . I don't like Amazon or the Idea of Amazon and its outsized scale anyway -

bad for the commerce and jobs in our country.
 
I think a buyer needs to be somewhat naïve if the on-line reviews of a product play a big part in the decision of whether or not to purchase.

Agreed. Depending on the product or service, there can be a lot to sort through and some people are naturally predisposed to believing what's printed. I've had honest reviews removed through "reputation defender"-type software and the "give us money, we'll clean up your online presence" B.S. for lousy businesses. Yelp has done something similar.

It's pretty unnerving that seemingly 90% of the "Buy Now" clicks on corporate and mom and pop sites take you automatically to Amazon as the fulfiller....a price check??....automatically to Amazon unless it's a "best price" comparison. Of course, Amazon is rarely the best price if you spend any time at all looking. I'm actually surprised that Bezos net worth isn't more....

Play a big part? Not really. Influence my decision? Absolutely.

Example:

I was looking at replacement carburetors for a small engine on Amazon. Both were cheap made in China items, and one of them had a couple of reviews saying the part did not fit correctly while the other one had great reviews. The prices were almost identical, so I went with the one that didn't have negative reviews.

I use the Amazon review a lot, especially for something I don't know much about.
I recently bought a Bluetooth Diagnostic OBDII Reader/Scanner to service newer transmissions, including my Lexus GS350 F Sport.
I got 1 with 4.5 stars and 10K reviews.
$24.
I am very happy with it.
I am not tied into the Psychic Network, so research and reviews are all I have.
And BITOG...
 
I remember seeing one Amazon product review, just useless! The narrative explained it all, and it was just so silly. I don't even remember the product reviewed, but the person gave it one star, and told the story that they themselves ordered the wrong product. Amazon had no problems having it returned, and shipped the correct product. Now, the person had no beef with the product, since they ordered the wrong one. They had no beef with Amazon, since Amazon sent what actually ordered, and then took the exchange with no complaints. So, Amazon shipped what was ordered in a timely fashion, undamaged, and there's a one star review because the person doesn't know what to order?

Amazon should post reviews of some of its customers. They sure didn't make money off of that simpleton.
 
All reviews are BS. 99% of people never bother unless super angry or bored. I almost never leave a review for anything. We do about $40k a month in Amazon purchases. Very large employer. Business prime member. I see no problem with Amazon. Treat them nice and they always try to make you happy. Most policies are very flexible. Contacting them is simple. Phone is best for super fast and friendly solutions. Online chat is ok. Stay far away from Synchrony who is their credit card provider. Horrible and they blame each other for billing issues non stop. There prices are not what they used to be. Either they are going up steadily or everyone else is going down to match.

A call to Amazon yielded no explanation and the lady there said she had seen absolutely no reason for them doing so.
Right now- I am taking my business elsewhere.
I will use Walmart and Zoro for business as Zoro is better than Prime here. I get next day delivery as standard and no $119. a year for Prime.

Amazon has turned out to be a joke. My high volume orders are unappreciated.
Of course I buy local whenever possible.

The only place I ever had deny my review was Home Depot. I wrote a review of a rat trap and made mention of the fact that I didn't have peanut butter to bait the thing so I used some generic Nutella I had in the house and they refused to post the review because of the use of the brand name.
 
Agreed.
Before you take away services I would hope you would issue a warning or explain exactly
why those services have been taken away. And when there isn't a reason admit the mistake
And rectify the situation.

I don't run my business this way even though I have some real seedy characters I should toss.
I learned long ago not to do so. These people live for drama and anything you do allows them the ability
to create more.

Actually many are not- but to your point, I noticed that those who are private consumers with no agenda and give honest reviews are usually booted.
I experienced very shady Amazon handy work. The vendor cries to Amazon about a honest review that is not complimentary to the product
and it magically disappears. The bigger Amazon gets the worse they will be. I really like to spread my money around. Service and integrity are
the main criteria here.
