Amazon return at UPS store

This is definitely a weird experience. I don't return many items, and when I have I've packed it myself and dropped it off at UPS. As soon as UPS scanned it, Amazon acknowledged that it was on the way and I'd usually have a refund within 24 hours.
Very common with Prime membership. A lot of trust, but often abused.

Amazon tracks return rates.

What kind of store is that? I remember returns at Amazon 4-Star stores, but they all closed. I think Amazon Go is gone too, but I don't think they were ever equipped for returns.

They have those oddball locker places in or around some college campuses. The one I remember at the UC Berkeley student union still has pickup. They're also quite different in that they have oversized item pickup that wouldn't fit in a locker. I think one time I ordered some wiper blades and I had to pick them up a person who had to grab my package from the back instead of loading it in a locker which is loaded when the customer scans the code. But they also accept returns. At one time they had demo Amazon electronics devices, but someone there said they got abused and they decided to stop displaying electronics.
We have several of these around. Small places that you go to and you just scan your return code off your phone, one of the return boxes opens automatically depending on the size of the return and you put in your return item. They are normally staffed by one or two people but unless you are returning a boxed item you have no interaction with them. Easy way to do it. Refund hits my Amazon account the same day.

What kind? I do use Amazon Lockers, but those are loaded and left alone. I've seen it where Amazon or USPS workers were loading them. I even had one that didn't have a keypad or barcode reader and the only way to access it was with Bluetooth through the Amazon app.

The one in Berkeley isn't preloaded. I enter/scan the code and then it says to wait until ready, and the door pops open. Or if it's oversized it tells me to go to the window. But for those lockers they're actually open on the other side and I can hear them being loaded and can see into the back room.

Don't know what else to tell you. Maybe we just get better stuff here in Texas. 😁
