Amazon Basics Motor Oil scarcity

Having visited the website a few times this week, i noticed that it wasn't displayed in results of my generic search. Usually, it would be front and center.
Not sure if anyone here has discussed or even noticed.

A while ago they had an excellent deal on Amazon Basics oil with S&S (on slickdeals iirc). I ordered a jug and have since noticed it gradually becoming less and less available. Seems like keeping it in stock difficult now for them, and/or not a priority.

A bunch of us also got the Basics 0W-40 for $6.72 for 5 quarts. I gave away a bunch of it and just used the last remaining one a few weeks ago.

IIRC it's similar to WM Supertech and Costco Kirkland, so those could be alternatives when on sale or markdown.

Remember that too. Now, that viscosity also isn't available.

I went through like all 7 pages of the Link you put up here, Shell Rotella T5 has a 15W-40, did not know that I only thought it was available in T4 or maybe T6

I did see the T4 15W-40, Shell has T6 in the 10W-30, always wondered why Shell did not have T4 and T5 in the 5W-40!

Yeah, It's Warren oil. Same as Supertech, Kirkland and a lot of autoparts branded oil. Never been priced competitively other than a few sales I have seen (as mentioned in this thread.) Not surprised it's going away, not sure why anyone would buy it at the price they were selling it at.

Maybe Amazon brand oil was a slow seller compared to the brand names ?

WM is unable or unwilling to continue stocking the 12 qt bag-boxes as well. I think Warren is just shuffling their capabilities around.

Ive got 1 left. Ive been using it on my euro-trash car with short OCIs to clean out years of neglect (not my neglect).

I hope Costco doesn't stop carrying the Warren oil or offering the semi-annual rebates. Might need to consider the stash size again.

At least currently, I think you're correct. And went back and looked at my purchase 11/2023, ~$16.90 with S&S. Less than ST syn 10k at the time, so it was a good price. In my observation, 0w20 been mostly OOS since.

Or there is a conspiracy/gentleman's agreement to reduce supply so other products can make a buck at the current moment.

I think people know and trust ST.
Kirkland brand is also known and people trust Costco.

I wouldn't buy Amazon either!
