As big as Amazon is -- I am sure it will be back in due time. I remember the other year grabbing there European Full Synthetic 0W40 5 quart containers for alittle over 8 bucks with tax. I snagged 5 of them and still have 2 left.
I hope Costco doesn't stop carrying the Warren oil or offering the semi-annual rebates. Might need to consider the stash size again.
Not much on conspiracy theories, but anything is possible I suppose. Seeing as WM Super Tech ST Syn and Costco Kirkland are same oils, perhaps production of those do get first priority. Amazon gets runs after those, or after an Amazon request. Also, since shipping issues mentioned, my AB Syn jug arrived with no damage.Or there is a conspiracy/gentleman's agreement to reduce supply so other products can make a buck at the current moment.
I have not seen a blend or conventional oil deal since christmas. Walmart Chevron Supreme is $21 - was $14 or so a year ago. Same with the Havoline box.If it was syn-blend we now know feedstocks are in overabundance
Inside guy says the supply side is awash. He repeated it several times, I have no knowledge as I certainly don't follow the market.I have not seen a blend or conventional oil deal since christmas. Walmart Chevron Supreme is $21 - was $14 or so a year ago. Same with the Havoline box.
I am 100% out - poured the last bottle in my Xterra. It will break my heart if I have to pay full price for a blend.
Yes, I have seen that thread. I have no reason to not believe him. Retail price and wholesale price have no correlation - long been the case. Retail sells at what they think they can get. I think blend is now a "niche" product for most people at a DIY retail level - so we may even see a premium in the future. Maybe thats why your friends are getting into that market?Inside guy says the supply side is awash. He repeated it several times, I have no knowledge as I certainly don't follow the market.
Not getting along well with the spouse? Then ask he/she for forgiveness - then ask for some oil for Christmas. If not forgiven, you can daydream breaking their heart about paying full prices, instead of yours.I am 100% out - poured the last bottle in my Xterra. +1Yeah, It's Warren oil. Same as Supertech, Kirkland and a lot of autoparts branded oil. Never been priced competitively other than a few sales I have seen (as mentioned in this thread.) Not surprised it's going away, not sure why anyone would buy it at the price they were selling it at.
My condolences. $17 is alot of scratch. An extra dollar and that Xterra could have full synthetic.I have not seen a blend or conventional oil deal since christmas. Walmart Chevron Supreme is $21 - was $14 or so a year ago. Same with the Havoline box.

NAPA blend will go on “sale” for around $3 a quart periodically. I bought enough for 2 oil changes on the Hyundai last time.I have not seen a blend or conventional oil deal since christmas. Walmart Chevron Supreme is $21 - was $14 or so a year ago. Same with the Havoline box.
