Well I got the oil in the mail today and got 3 k&n filters for 9 bucks with a coupon so I think I did pretty well. The bottles says produced by Warren oil on the label . It doesn't have the Volkswagen approved spec but I'm sure that is because of the price point. How long would you run this oil in my 09 rabbit?

I got mine from Costco. They didn't actually have 0W-40 at my local warehouse. They had 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30, and strangely enough 10W-30. But 0W-40 was available online at $28.00 for 6 quart bottles.

the euro 5-40 is a full synthetic, likely mostly group III, not a bargain like many supertech oils blended by the same but a good enough deal for me. if wallys ever bring theirs to usa i will prolly use it as its likely the same + should be cheaper

I assume your Rabbit has the 2.5L inline 5? That engine holds 6 quarts, is known as being pretty reliable and uses port fuel injection.
I'd do 7500 mile OCI's if it was mine. I feel long OCI's hurt the timing chain system on many engines when you get well past 100K and
5-7.5K OCI's help negate that.

my girlfriend traded her better IMO 08 jetta with that 2.5 for her oil thirsty 13 malibu. the malibu does better on long trips that are few but the 78 thou jetta was better overall on gas,oil + repairs. she has 60 thou on the malibu so DI carbon may be soon + shes above average with wheel bearings as malibus + other GM offerings using the same prolly chinese bearings are eating them up!! in Pa i only used whatever 10-30 fake synthetic i had with great results in the jetta, about a qt in yearly 10 thou changes

I paid $29 for 6 quarts which was cheaper than any where else. My local Walmart doesn't carry 5qt jugs of 5w40 or a 0w40 just single quarts of Mobil 1 5w40 it's like 8.28 per quart.

Maybe just me but a "Euro oil" has mfg approvals; no approvals = not a euro oil.

Does it have 'any' euro approvals?

It says on the amazon site that you should follow the mfg recommendations; which btw is using a euro oil with approvals.

Probably good for your driving but seems like 'why bother making it'

5000-7500 depending on which engine.

PP 22.xx-10 MIR = win.

Although they dont have a 5w40 at walmart, they do have a euro 5w30 that would suit many applications.

Not sure about that. Looks like Walmart is dropping PP Euro L.

With these antiquated engines, pushing the OCI with a decent oil shouldn't be any concern.
It's when you add the turbo and Di that you should start being concerned.

It is A3/B4 rated.

IF this oil is the same as Mag1 5W-40, here are the performance specs...

Castrol 0W-40: $25. 1/2 PAO, 1/2 Group III, a dash of ester.
M1 FS 0W-40: $25. 2/3 GTL, 1/3 PAO, a dash of ester.
Amazon 5W-40: $25. 100% Group III+, no ester.

I am not saying that it's not a good oil -- it probably is -- but if we had a value-to-price index, Amazon 5W-40 would by far be the third place, certainly underperforming the other two despite costing the same. It also does not have any real approvals other than API.

Castrol 0W-40 likely has a tad bit better base oil (more PAO) than M1 FS 0W-40, which makes up for it with GTL. M1 should have a solid Infineum add pack though.

ram_man, Ghokhan is quoting walmart black-jug 5 qts prices, everyday price. The best deal on REAL euro-spec approved oil, not oil that kinda sorta says it might meet requirements.
Why pay so much for Amazon euro 5w40 here when you can get Castrol or M1 0w40 that carries most (M1 is missing BMW) or all (Castrol has all approvals) for cheaper, name-brands too?
Sometimes walmarts carry Pennzoil euro-spec 0w40 too, another good one tested out the wazoo in real approvals.

And your choice of K&N oil filters is a bad one too. Sorry I'm so rough on you in particular, but people reading this have to understand Fram Ultra or Fram Racing OIl Filters, or Wix or NapaGold or Purolator Boss or Royal Purple oil filters or Amsoil oil filters or Mobil1 oil filters, are all much better choices than K&N which fell out of favor a decade ago due to cost-cutting by new owners riding on their past good brand name, no longer that great.

Since I'm criticizing ram_man a lot here, I should clearly state to readers that oil filters are judged by how well they filter & what they are constructed of, and all the ones I've listed do well, just not K&N.

Summary:
Buy name-brand oil that has real, actual spec approvals,
and oil filters that actually perform well. (Seems like common sense I guess.)
