Hey guys, I just finished two cycles with Auto-RX and dino oil and bought some penzoil platinum and a pure one filter...
How long do you guys think I will be able to run the oil and the filter.

I have ordered a oil analysis kit and will do a UOA when you guys suggest.

Unless it sees pretty severe service I would think 5000 miles would be safe.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you mean for both the oil and the filter or can I go longer with the filter. Also, when should I send in the UOA? Should I do it right at 5000 and drive the oil till I get the results, or should I do it sooner?

5,000 miles on PP? 7,500 would be cake. I would go to 7,500. Change your oil and await your UOA results.

I would go to 5000 just to be on the safe side, and if the oil has significant life left in it, go to 7500 the next time. You might even be able to go further than 7500 miles, but 7500 miles or 6 months (changing in April and October) would be simple and get the value out of the oil.

Pull a sample at 5k and send it off. It only takes a couple days to get it back. Change it only if warranted.

PureONE or Wix, either are really good choices and readily available.

Those motor easily go 5K on Motorcraft oil and filters.

I recommend Motorcraft FL820S oil filters and PP 5W-20 as the weight.

98LSC32V, have you ever done a UOA on your oil? How long do you suggest I go on the PP and MC filter?

Yes, I have multiple UOA's for both my 98 LSC and the 96 Base Mark VIII. I would go 5000-6000 miles on the PP and get a UOA and then you can extend the OCI from there if everything checks out good.

Always change your filter when you change oil.....
