I can see BMW puting a greater push positioning the brand to as a counterpoint to M, for people who want more discreet and gentlemanly performance, not the louder and brasher M of today.

Any way they cut, it probably means just another badge to roll off the line along the rest of the stuff, and not the low volume production off-site like even M was at one time.

First time I saw Alpina vehicles was at the World of Wheels in Miami Beach Convention Center in the late 80’s. I always liked their styling and mods.

From my understanding Aren't Alpina's sent over as a body in white then gone through? I remember a top Gear episode where Jeremy Clarkson tested an Alpina B7 and 7 series BMW and preferred the BMW. The oem Alpina multi spoke wheels sell for serious money.
