All about Carquest oil filters

I work for and Independent car quest. The MP filters are allegedly the same as the R prefix reds. Mp's are supposed to be sold by the case. They are also only available in the R or carquest standard.

I actually got on here to see if anyone was testing the carquest blacks yet? Recently, all purlator filters are being pulled from advanced and carquest due to the release of the new three tier carquest hierarchy. The blacks are supposed to meet or exceed purolator boss performance. I would be very interested to see some results of the new product im supposed to be selling
I haven't heard about the new CQ filters, could you tell a bit more about them?

Thanks! Wish I had more time to look into them right now, but if that 99% @ 25 micron rating is correct then it looks like these will be my new go-to.

I upgraded my central vacuum motor so I won't be able to do direct pressure differential test comparisons with the Frams I tested a while back, but maybe I'll pick up another XG as a reference point for future tests with the new motor.

I said three tier earlier but I just remembered we still offer the blue HD filters for most configurations. Might require some cross referencing to find one that would fit. They still considered better by price point, but are simply built for durability and not longevity

The efficiency of the Carquest black EP was shown somewhere here (maybe by @Glenda W. ) to be 99.5% @25u I believe. That's way better than the Boss with is 99% @46u per Purolator.

Update - Thread by Glenda W. with efficiency info - LINK

If you get one.. better to get the bundle with 5 quart jug of your choice and this filter as it brings the filter price down around half. They are too expensive as a stand alone IMO. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/projects/oil-change/bundle

Can you walk in and get this? The on line form does not have the correct motor for one vehicle and won’t let me select a specific weight & only lets me choose from approved weights

you can walk in and get it. for online shopping, i only utilize the vehicle make/model for the filters. i then turn off vehicle matching and add whatever oil i am looking for. you do not have to use their configurator to get the deal.

What is Carquest Heavy Duty? Where can I buy it?

I only saw Carquest Extended Performance in Advanced Auto store.

If you already have an oil stash, AAP runs 15% off for online orders pretty frequently. I stock up on the three filters I need for the cars I maintain, and take the discount and hit the free shipping amount. Premium filters are $9.99 less the 15%.

Makes me wonder how they are planning to sell their EP version for $16.99. Thats almost double! Interestingly enough when you buy their oil bundle, you can pick premium or EP Carquest filter at the same price
