Advanced stocking non e-cores?

I stopped in to Advanced to pick up some epoxy and checked the oil filters. A good 75% of the AC Delco filters were the classic design. The only e-core I could find was a PF13, Wix 1085 cross reference. I cleaned them out of PF52's.

Has anyone noticed this? Are there pics of the PF52 cut open?

i see the same thing i dont see the e cores too much in advance i guess word got out and people stopped buying them...But i am not sure the ones they are selling are the same as the old ones i know they look like them ...we will be cutting open some soon.
Also the holes in the a/c filter are smaller than say the purolators.
I used them for years now we use group 7 in the shop which is a purolator sold to the auto industry

What's the beta on that media? Champs are good, wix OK in big but not small cans, no need to cut one opn and waste it unless its used. Lot of youtube videos on filters now - check em out! I found from experience I need Silicone rubber adbv for winter sub -20C starts. It will be -13c tonight with old factory dirty oil with the filter in bypass on my new honda. Argggg! I want to do an OC!

No need to go wild.

PF-52 is still manufactured in E-core and non E-core design. Both are listed on the AC-delco website and I've seen seen several in the new AC-Delco box, so its not merely old stock.

You can get them by the case from the dealer.

Yeah, I know they make both but it's been so long since I've seen a non e-core I'm snagging them up. I got another 5 today. I'm set for a few years!

Short of cutting one open they appear identical in all respects.

they do look the same i hope that is the case when we cut one open we will know for sure

pf53 is still Ecore.
