Thinking of up grading the old beater.
I have an obese relative that uses the car a bunch, but has trouble with the steering wheel rubbing her belly.
SOoo. I'm wondering what cars have adjustable pedals OR telescoping steering wheel.
The years would be 2000-2005.
Prefer American auto.

Any ideas or suggestions?

My 04 Avalanche had it. I imagine that higher end GM trucks (tahoes etc) would have it too. The other option is looking for cars with telescoping steering wheel adjustment.

This is a real issue though. I had to adjust the steering wheel on my mom's Camry. She's tiny and she was about 3" from the steering wheel. Right in the range for the air bag to blow her head off.

Most Fords from early 2000's on have 'em(pedals), but not all models had them as standard equipment, so you may have to look for one so optioned.

A girdle has given William Shatner that tightly swaddled midsection that has allowed him to squeeze into race cars for over 30 years.

True. My 04 Grand Marquis has it and I love it - especially since I'm very tall and the wife and daughter are - shall we say - short!

Thanks for the comebacks.

I'm looking toward a smaller auto, for decent mileage.

There are 'pedal extensions' available. GM had them a couple of years ago. I don't trust them though; they just clamp on the pedals and also change the geometry.

the LX/LC family at Chrysler offers that rare combo of seat, pedals and steering wheel adjustment that really adds to the comfort level.

Fits large sizes too.

Don't drive one unless you are ready to purchase!
