Adbv material for short interval

I would not be comfortable depending on a nitrile anti-drain back valve during cold weather when it is needed most for cold starts. My 2010 Fit has the same engine as yours. I like seeing the low oil pressure light turn off almost instantly with each cold start using Pentius PLXL 7317 filters with a silicone adbv.

Typically the colder the temperature, the more likely the nitrile adbv will harden and be more prone to oil leaking past the valve. I'd compare it to conventional oil not being ideal at extremely cold temperatures (cold starts). Not a huge deal but enough to compel me to choose oil filters with a silicone adbv, even for the riding mower that never gets started below 40 F (leaf cleanups).

Guess I’ll just run the TG7317 since it’s the Honda filter clone in silver. Or maybe the microgard select. I’d go for the pentius bulk but they’d be sitting for so long

Not exactly a "clone." Best information says the TG is significantly more efficient the Fram made Honda A02. Also the A02 uses a captured P type gasket vs standard for the TG.

As for the topic query, you as long time reader this sub forum, the answer should be obvious.

But yeah, run whatever you like.

Super tech is brave slapping 10,000 miles on their oil filters. Looks nitrile
The exact type of rubber may have a factor in how it holds up with heat and time. Non-silicone rubber has made some progress compared to the rubber used many decades ago in filters.

Bettez88, Now I don't feel so " out of touch" thanks to you. I do 3k oil and filter changes too. Actually it's 3 months or 3k, whichever comes first. I don't drive as much as I used to. No more commuting to work. Retired. Just trips to supermarket, doctor appointments, bloodwork at a lab for the doctor. Few romps on the highway to give it some exercise. We still have a daughter in High School, so I gotta take her places before she starts driving in a couple of years. Wife commutes 40 miles round trip to work in the other beater. Same deal 3 months or 3k, whichever comes first. I even have the GOOD oil stickers for the windshield. The ones that don't leave adhesive on the windshield. Peel right off and leave nothing behind to scrape/clean. Found them on Scamazon. Yeah, she's our only kid. We started late. Too busy partying from the 80's to 2012, that's when she was born. " OH, I see you brought you're grandparents to school tonight for the school play !!! " We get so mad , and sad, at the same time :(
