My walmart still has PF64 filters... have you checked yours? Main thing you want is a 22 PSI oil filter bypass setting that the PF64 does have. The filter should mount vertical if it is like most GM V8 so silicone ADBV is not necessary.

Hmm, the silicone ADVV still serves a function even in a vertical position. It will do a good job in keeping oil the galleries. The way to tell is to unscrew the filter and see if the oil cascades down into the pan.
