ac/heater fan

My 03 avalanche's fan will only work on the highest setting. Numbers 1-4 do not blow any air. Is there a relay separate from the fan? or is there a resistor built into the blower? Do i need to replace the blower to correct this? On another note, my rear doors will unlock with the remote and door controls but will not lock. I have to lock each rear door manually, is this going to be a dealer fix?

You need a blower motor resistor for the fan.

Sounds like a possible broken wire for the locks.

And you will probably need the plug that plugs into the resister pack

Is this on the blower? where is the resistor and the plug?

Definitly the resistor, my Silverado did the same thing. Must happen quite often, I got a card in the mail from GM to send my receipt to them for a rebate.

There is a black panel under the glove compartment by the passenders feet, is that where the blower, and resistor is?
