Gentlemen,

Really appreciated everyone's input on my previous thread located here , because of which i was able to fix the heater problem.

After the work i did some thorough testing and found the following problems :

1- No air is coming out from the 4 rear vents on the roof

2- The rear side/floor vents are working fine.

3- The large vent on the rear left side, next to the boot is blowing air but no heat or AC.

I never use the rear controls so these had gone unnoticed.

Please advise. Thanks

Please note the edits in the above post

After doing some search i read some info about a "mode door actuator" could be the issue. What do you think? If so where is this part located and are you aware of some video or other resources which will help me to fix it?

@Wrenchturner44 had posted this VIDEO as a tutorial to help me........i was wondering if the mode door actuator is located somewhere near to the blend door actuator? Thanks

Update :

Got distracted with things but finally got to do some more testing. Here is what i found -

1- The ceiling vents are working but only in cold/normal air settings. (when the temp. slider is on the blue). That is air is blowing through the vents.

2. As soon as i move the slider to heat (red) the air flow from the vents cuts of.

This is an interesting situation. Does it tell you something? Is it possible i am doing something wrong in the controls? The following is what i noticed -

1 - The main control is on the dash. The slider has to be turned on for the rear vents to work.

2- However there is another control on the roof next to the right captain's chair which has fan speeds and temp./vent choices which don't seem to do anything when heat is selected. They only seem to work for normal or cold air.

Any ideas? Thanks

I would say rear controls are working as normal. Rear controls on my Durango work the same way....there is also knob setting on the dash that has to be set to enable rear control operation.

But you do get heat from the rear vents right?

No. The events in the ceiling are for AC only. The heat comes out seperate vent on a floor panel
(y)

Then there is no problem in the van because the side vents are blowing heat. I guess the heat and cold vents are separate in all cars?

How come no one else from our pool of experts didn't catch this when i started the thread.....

In any case, thanks a lot.
