Here are some picks of an AC Delco “Professional” water pump to fit a 2005 3.0 OHV V-6. It was made in China but looks pretty good. I’m finally used to using AC Delco parts on a Ford. Seemed strange to me at first. Any other comments on experience with AC Delco “Professional ” parts?

Just installed an AC Delco Professional water pump on my 2005 Impala a few months ago and it's been working flawlessly so far.

Not fond of Chinese parts. But, it appears to be well made. As long as it meets your specs. Hope it works well for your vehicle.

I always compare the stock images from rockauto and the part stores to see if they are using the same photos

I'm with ya!

I have a love hate relationship with ACDelco Professional.

I've read they're as good as OE, but sometimes OE is available as well, which seems contradicting.. When I did the control arms on my truck, Professional was the only brand I trusted (Didn't want Moog.) and they seem to be of decent quality. Made in China though. We'll see how long the ball joints last since these apparently like to eat them.

Side by side, I would pick OE over the Professional line, but the cost difference can be quite significant at times. OE water pump for my truck is around $140. $35 for professional.

I have heard the same thing.

AC Delco water pumps are usually gates, same as their timing belt kits.

Gates makes the worst water pumps. Very high failure rate from my experience.

ACDelco has 4 product lines..

OE. Same part the car was equipped with from the factory, usually US made from the original molds and machines.

Professional. Same as parts available at local parts stores, not bad but nothing great either, second tier, usually China production.

Advantage. same as white box no name stuff, low end offshore production, close to bottom of the barrel with this stuff.

Specialty applications. OE starters/alternators, spark plugs, oil, filters, etc. Generally good quality USA or first world products.
