Hello again. This filter was off my friends truck with the 5.3 v8. 6,000 with I guess Gm DEXOS Blend 5w30. Put some QSGB 5w30 and a tough guard 10060 back in and on. Not too shabby for a E CORE filter

KGMtech: you are welcome. I was pleasantly surprised on the glue process and there were no wide spaced pleats

This is the AC Delco 'for new(er) GM vehicles' that now use filter integral bypass as opposed to previous block bypass GM.

These ACD eschew the use of a combo valve previously used in the non GM ACDelco/Champ ecores previously, in favor of the standard Fram designed dome end poppet style bypass.

So GM said/says yea to keeping ecore nylon cage, but nay to combo valve for bypass.

Thanks for c&p.

GM claims they designed this filter because they flow better... I say maybe true but im sure they are cheaper also. I would use this filter before i would use a filter with the inner tube slits.
Thank you for the cut and post!

Jhellwig: the co worker of mine usually always runs/ran 10w30 QSGB. Dunno why he would run a great performing conventional in all honesty. Heavens, we use Eco Power 5w30 from Safety Kleen in GM stuff calling for DEXOS 5w30. Hmmm

He put it in or chose to use the QSGB also as its HIS truck, not mine. 77k on truck and no oil related issues he said

Nice cut & post, made me hungry :o)

I had to get rid of my ATF because I am always tempted to drink it. Just seeing it on a table in a clear bottle gets me salivating.

I also got rid of restaurant cups that I would use for various tasks because I almost accidentally took a sip of one filled with oil when I thought it was my beverage.

I consider myself clumsy. So I do my best to safety- child-proof my residence. The twisted wire n top of cyclone fences, sharp corners like the edges of furniture where two pieces of wood meet, and many other scenarios worry me.

My Dad drank Drain-O as a child, so it may run n the family. My main concerns are eyes. No sharp points and always have some safety glasses nearby. Next is accidental ingestion- then hearing loud sounds, smelling toxic substances, gloves to keep used oil and other toxins off my skin, etc

An ecore isn't that bad of a filter. I ran these on a regular basis on an 04 Trailblazer that the olm ran out to 8, and in a couple instance, 10k miles. Now at over 200k is still does well being driven every day.
