AAP clearance on Fram Force

Not a store closing clearance so figured that thread didn’t apply. Feel free to move mods

Just picked up 9 of these at my local AAP < $20. Not the greatest filter in the world, but for $2/per I couldn’t say no.
I went to the Advanced Auto Parts website, I clicked on the 50% off Fram Force button at top of screen.

For the Fram Force 7317 (Fits most Hondas), it's listed as $9.99.
It's possible it will be 50% off at checkout, which could be $5, but didn't see the $2 price anywhere,
unless the $2 price is only for certain sizes.

If there is an extra step to get the $2 price, please let me know, as I would love to stock up on them for $2,
as I do 16 oil changes a year across my 4 vehicles.

Not sure. I was just perusing the website last night with my daughter’s Hyundai selected and searched for oil filters and the FF and purolator one popped up on clearance. P1 was OOS but FF wasn’t. Didn’t even offer me an option for shipping, had to be picked up in store. Stopped by this morning and they had 9 left so I took them all. They were also not on the shelf. Had to ask and they were all in the back

ETA: Part #FF9688

Thanks. Grabbed three misc Fram and Purolator filters for the fleet for $13: oil, air, and cabin air.

A few more I'd like a few towns over...

Yes another deceptive bit of oil filter Samangan's. I had to look high and low to that. about five minutes of Google. this is why it should be required on the box. How else are you going to do selective shopping?
Thanks. Yeah I did a google search but didn’t see that.

Flipped thru the page you provided. That’s just basic info from Fram. Nowhere do I see it mention the Fram Force model in the article. 🤷🏻‍♂️
You are correct. That article just gives definitions. I do like it though because sometimes I see it defined at 20 microns and other times like this. 95% at 20 microns really means greater than 20, not greater than or equal to. I wonder if that is across the board at every manufacturer.

In this case Fram Force is indeed 98%+ at greater than 20 microns and has a synthetic blend media. As far as I can tell, it's pretty much the same as the Tough Guard.

This thread confirms that and they are a Tough Guard marketed for AAP: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/fram-force.328025/

Here is the definition of Efficiency that is mentioned in a few other posts on Fram's website.

Efficiency

Efficiency measures how effectively a filter can trap contaminants of a specific size. It is usually expressed as a percentage at a specific micron rating. A filter that is 95% efficient at 20 microns can capture 95% of particles that are 20 microns or larger. The same filter may only be 50% efficient at 10 microns, meaning it captures half of the particles that size or larger. Efficiency is closely linked to the filter media. Synthetic media, with tightly woven fibers, can achieve higher efficiency at smaller micron sizes without significantly reducing flow. Cellulose media, while less efficient at capturing fine particles, allows for greater flow rates and is often sufficient for everyday driving conditions.

FWIW, AAP was willing to transfer some filters from store to store for me. So if they don't have the $5 air/cabin filter or $2 oil filter for your application, see if they show them within their transfer radius.

Just went to store to pick up an online order for Fram Force oil filters. Noticed that the Fram Titanium oil filter line (wire-backed version of fram ultra exclusive to AAP) is on clearance at $3/each too (81% of msrp). There was only one in stock for 9688, so I picked it up too.
Seems like the AAP is discontinuing the Fram Titanium line too. Not sure if this is precipitated by First Brand's bankruptcy.

I picked up some clearance Frams today and cleaned them out too. Titanium air filters for my Ridgeline and the kids Kia. Titanium oil filter for the XT6 and some basic Drive oil filters for the Sentra and the Kia. All for less $20.
