Went by AAP and was able to snag a few photos of the new oil filters. Link I saw earlier the website stated 98%, the box stated 99%. That's the only odd thing I noticed, overall LOOKS like a good filter. When they throw it on an oil change special I'll see how it does in the real world. Y'all's thoughts?

Whats the business advantage of doing this? It has to be more expensive to have a special run for one company while the rest get the high volume parts. I suppose there is no 1:1 comparison with Walmart prices for the same part so they can charge more. How many people fall for that one though?

I have wondered the same thing. Like stated above, supposedly it is a Fram TG, so why go through the hassle to charge a $1.50 more for the SAME oil filter. Seems like to me there MUST be some differences, don't you think?

They use the PH series as a reference for efficiency. Same mistake as the Titanium.

It goes on to state "or equivalent Fram FF models" within the same sentence.
Doesn't seem like an error at all.
It seems deliberate and intended in both cases.

Fram's website says "98%+" ... so guess they just decided to bump it up to "99%" for the box.

Considering how overpriced Advance Auto is on most of their inventory, I most likely won't be using any of the "new" Fram oil filters.

It says on their website:
"FRAM Group testing of average filter efficiency of 8A, 3387A and 4967 or equivalent FRAM Force models under ISO 4548-12 for particles greater than 20 microns."

No reference to "PH". It looks like Fram cleaned up their efficiency statements some after all the complaining around here, lol.

I like the orange coating on it. Pretty cool. It would look good on a show car's engine. I'd use this over any Purolator in the background of the pic. Heck, I'd even take an Extra Guard over any Purolator, period.

Nope.
The Force is between the ExtraGuard and ToughGuard. Similar design, syn blend media, but filtration is between the two.

Context is it is on the box. It says PH. Filter is not a PH. PH tests less than 99.Wrong info on box.
