took off my valve coven on my 83 MB 300D today for a valve adjustment. Everything looked good, with barely a degree of stretch in the chain.
Oil used: Delvac 1 5w-40, currently 4-5000 mile intervals, hopefully longer.

From an earlier time when I dropped my pan. No sludge, junk, or anything, just black because of soot (nd the oil pan is black metal). Shows what a good hot drain does for cleanliness.

What we havehere,is that regular oil changes do wonders. A dirty engine "sludge" is caused by too long of an oil change interval.
