Amazing these pumps ran for 83 years. Would be interesting to see how much wear there is on the impellers, elbows, and other parts, assuming where there were no parts changed.
Those pumps would still be running good today if they hadn't decided to upgrade the entire water/fountain display. Looking at a pump there cut open the internals looked great. BTW the new water fountains are no where near as interesting as the original.

Going north on 101. The hills are turning brown. Fire season!

The town of Jenner is situated next to the Russian River right before it goes into the Pacifc.

I had a brioche with smoked salmon. It was a hot day so we didn't sit on their deck.

The other dish was a smoked salmon salad

Driving towards Timber Cove, north of Fort Bragg and close to Salt Point State Park, where foraging for mushrooms is legal. I plan on spending a couple of days there in the fall, hunting for my favorite mushrooms.

The Timber Cove Bufano Peace Obelisk is about 90 miles north of San Francisco. The state park around the monument is the second smallest state park in California. It's just 60 feet across and located above a bluff overlooking the Pacific and the coast.

The monument is 93 feet tall
