Going north on 101. The hills are turning brown. Fire season!

Bohemian Highway

The town of Jenner is situated next to the Russian River right before it goes into the Pacifc.

Cafe Aquatica in Jenner

I had a brioche with smoked salmon. It was a hot day so we didn't sit on their deck.

The other dish was a smoked salmon salad

Driving towards Timber Cove, north of Fort Bragg and close to Salt Point State Park, where foraging for mushrooms is legal. I plan on spending a couple of days there in the fall, hunting for my favorite mushrooms.

The Timber Cove Bufano Peace Obelisk is about 90 miles north of San Francisco. The state park around the monument is the second smallest state park in California. It's just 60 feet across and located above a bluff overlooking the Pacific and the coast.

The monument is 93 feet tall

A pothole-free section of HWY1 skirting Bolinas Lagoon

These are some really AMAZING shots!

I love them!

vava - are you retired or independently wealthy or just WFH?

Just curious.

I knew those area many years ago (1980's). Beautiful pictures.

I work five days a week, including weekends, and more than half the time I work from home. I got tired of traveling for work all the time and manage to stay mostly near MY homebase. My son lives now on his own and I have a house helper who keeps my house clean and the fridge stocked. I manage to squeeze two hours of non-work into most workdays. I also don't need more than 4 hours sleep. The pictures I show are almost always from my two days off. Say what you will about California but it does have its perks.

Thanks. I wish I could do these locations justice.
We camped and hippied in those areas in the late 1970's. Some cool camping spots stilled remained at that time. Crazy times. No money. No worries. Lots of bartering to survive.

I grew up and got back to university unfortunately.

I never brought my 35mm SLR. THAT was a lifetime mistake, frankly. I could have afforded 200Dx or 400 TriX........scan and post here!

Reuse is better than recycle !! These are some hunks of my left over 6x10 Doug Fir beams. Treated with killer preservative they will become steps/stairs from patio next to wall.

, who didn't see that coming.

Genuinely interested in how "Good" Top Gun 2 (Top Gun: Maverick) is.

Interesting: Tom Cruise "looks the same."
