Mike, Rod bearings are damaged from the overheat. From the data they may go another 50,000 miles to failure if I keep good lube in there.I was hoping they were normal but the girls got em...

M1 205 oil filter was indeed used again to limit variables. Good capacity, life, and efficiency balance in this engine. However this is the new EP Oil filter.

Pscholte is a strong fella, he and the elves will get over it. Remember I mentioned here that the formulation of PP is interestingly similar to the green in theory of formulation.

My premium kit is being sold in limited fashion as it is currently being used by a couple of formulators to save on ASTM testing expense. Blackstone is still a good package from a great company. Still the backbone of our consumer analysis service.

The new FTIR is not installed yet as was expected on 3/21. I am at its mercy but if the recent results of using the premium kit are any indication, accuracy, breadth of testing, and excellent turnaround are positives.

Have you considered using a high moly oil with a maybe some SF additive? Maybe to the point of getting higher wear #s but also a bit of micro polishing. Sort of a drastic last ditch moly overload to rebreak in the bearings. Probably silly and wont help but it doesn't look like you can hurt it much anymore. Theres always Duralube.

Is your feeling that the bearings are scored or just loose?

Sure Buzz, lubricant, miscibility agent( I blended walmart coolant with the G-05 stuff from Audi), acid and corrosion inhibitor. Seems to be working.

My girls have really pushed this car to the limit.

Did I mention the battery blew up last summer too.

I'm sorry. I'm sure you don't think it's funny, but I can't help but laugh with everything this car has been through and it still runs.

Rod bearings are scored, deformed/elongated from the earlier overheating my daughters put on the engine.

GC has PLENTY of EP add capability to perform as well or better than Moly.

SF oils are definitely another possibility. I did want to get a testing look at Pennzoil Platinum in what will eventually be a problem engine first.

I am testing SF motor oils and love what I have observed from Molacule's labs.

I know, but it's like the car is possesed and belongs in a Ghostbusters movie. Batteries exploding. Bearings elongating. LC in the radiator. Ectoplasm in the crankcase.
