I had an '89 S-15 Jimmy 4x4 and when I got rid of it with 160,000 miles, it had the original ball joints and no sign of any problems.
Of course, I was pretty anal about greasing them at every oil change.....
Rust was a big problem on the vehicle. Other than that, I recall replacing the fuel pump at 110,000 miles, the water pump at 100,000 (wasn't very good about cooling system flushes), and the starter and alternator.
