JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THESE FOR 1500 180000 MILES 4.3 HAS NEWER PAINT JOB AND BODYWORK DONE ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE I HEAR THE FRONT ENDS AND TransmissionS ARE WEAK IN THESE just wondering if anyone has had one of these thanx

Don't know about any weakness. My old neighbor had an '87 that he got rid off because it needed too much body work and he didn't want to sink the $$$ into it. I believe it had over 200k on it when he sold it.

It's probably got that [censored] "CS" alternator that GM used 88-94 but other than that they are solid.

i had a 92 s-10 2wd, it was an excellent ride i sold it with 170,000 miles and not one problem other than replacing the radiator years before! mike

well this one was definatly not as described ended up not getting it was blowiing water all over engine am looking at a 91 blazer with 135000 miles needs driver side door and window regulators four wheel drive does not work though dont know why yet price is 900

finally bought a 92 gmc jimmy 2 door with a 4.3 for a 1000 160000 miles decent shape 4 whhel drive works seems to run decent only bad thing is has not had an oil change in over 3 years or 28000 miles

I think you just made a big mistake.

I agree, 28,000 is a long time w/ no oil changes. I would imagine it's dino as well. Was it low on oil?

yeah all the fluids were nasty believe it or not does not run that bad bought it as a second vehicle any ideas on how i should flush it my thought was to do a couple of short 200 mile changes with cheap oil and mayby a quart of marvel mystery oil

My FIL had a 93 S-10 w/4.3 and anything we replaced on it was reasonably inexpensive(as long as you do-it-yourself).

Huh?

I had an '89 S-15 Jimmy 4x4 and when I got rid of it with 160,000 miles, it had the original ball joints and no sign of any problems.

Of course, I was pretty anal about greasing them at every oil change.....

Rust was a big problem on the vehicle. Other than that, I recall replacing the fuel pump at 110,000 miles, the water pump at 100,000 (wasn't very good about cooling system flushes), and the starter and alternator.

YEAH THE 92 JIMMY I BOUGHT has the original ball joints to but they definatly need replacing along with many other items

YEAH I REPHRAZE ORAGINAL POST LAST TIME OIL WAS CHANGED WAS FEB 2003 OR 58000 MILES AGO YOU WOULDOT BELIEVE HOW IT DRIPPED OUT LOOKED LIKE ROAD TAR CANNOT BELIEVE IT RUNS
