Crutchfield has aftermarket head units that will fit. They even including the plug and play wiring harness, plus any other trim pieces, tools, etc. Much better quality than the same junk Kia would put in that broke for $1,000....
Or else, he can get a pretty nice stereo for a fraction of what Kia wants to charge him (without Goodwill adjustment) for a unit that is probably nothing more than a rebadged Hodozzy (or its equivalent.)

I replaced my entire sound system including running power and some new speaker wires in the Tundra so I'm confident I can do this job - just hadn't thought about aftermarket - thank you!
Aftermarket stereo has pretty amazing sound - and can still do camera and navigation - you name it … son had this display up that looked like a drone was flying over us
