$65 for a plain key at a Ford dealer???

Got the keys today and cut them on the kitchen counter. Love having a key cutter at home.

Looks nicer Looks original. Looks like you care. When I see a car with hardware store keys, I wonder what else did the owner cheap out on.
I somewhat agree with you here. When I was looking for an extra key to the Buick and ran across several that had GM stamped on them but I wanted one with the Buick Logo.

That's a bit of a stretch.... Keys can be lost and before transponders and fobs became more common, I'm sure hardware store keys were extremely common and no one considered them cheap or thought less of the owner.
